Africa stays steady…........................ The AMA re-launches approval ma rk The AMA Approved Mark was re-launched at the 50th Annual General Meeting in Sun City, South Africa in May. According to the association, the AMA Approved Mark essentially covers more issues than before, and gives consumers and the trade more confidence in their purchase of a South African manufactured aerosol product. South African aerosol products will continue to be CFC-free, but now will incorporate the commitment to the environment, the recycling mark on product and the monitoring of aerosol recycling. The industry’s commitment to safe products is incorporated in its commitment to the Aerosol Sectoral code, specifically incorporated in the Consumer Goods & Services Ombud (CGSO) code. The Mark also certifies that AMA Members are committed to Best Aerosol Manufacturing Practices. Further, the AMA Approved mark ensures correct product measures for consumers and that the individual member is a “...Registered Member of the Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association and has pledged adherence and commitment to the AMA Code of Practice and the AMA Sectoral Code.” December 2013 Spray 19 show most growth.
