The acquisition follows the announcement made by the company in September of a global supply network with the One Asia organization, covering the whole of their respective organizations in Australia, Japan, China, Thailand, India, Poland, Germany, Spain, Portugal and Brazil. L’Oréal announced the acquisition by The Body Shop of 51% of Emporio Body Store Consumer goods packaging and contract manufacturer Colep announced the acquisition of the aerosol personal care products contract manufacturing plant of Aerosoles y Liquidos S.A de C.V., in Santiago de Querétaro, Mexico. The new company will trade as Colep S.A de C.V. With this acquisition, Colep initiates its operations in the Central and North American contract manufacturing markets for personal care products. From this manufacturing base, the company will serve its already existing customer base, in Brazil, which offers a complete range of beauty products sold through a franchise network. The founder of Emporio Body Store, Tobias Chanan, will remain CEO of the group with the objective to expand the business through the franchise channel. The Company will propose to Brazilian consumers a range of The Body Shop’s most popular products complemented by new products developed locally with L’Oréal’s Research Centre in Rio de Janeiro, in accordance to The Body Shop’s s requirements. Additionally, L’Oréal has extended an offer to the Japanese group Shiseido for the acquisition of Decléor and Carita. Based on this offer, Shiseido has granted L’Oréal exclusive negotiation rights for professional skin care marketers Decléor / Carita, who achieved a turnover of approximately
