Lindal Group officially
debuts new Indiana facility
O n May 10, aerosol packaging supplier Lindal Group held
the ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new, state-of-the-art,
100,000-square foot facility in Columbus, IN designed to
further meet growing domestic demand.
The expandable facility is a key component of Lindal Group’s
more than $20 million investment committed for the U.S. market
last year, which includes production,
offices, laboratories and
warehousing. To increase capacity
and expand its product portfolio,
Lindal invested in new injection
moulding machines (IMM),
Bag-on-Valve (BOV) and standard
valve lines, various high speed
assembly cells and a number of key
customer-specific programs.
On hand to celebrate the
occasion were James Lienhoop,
Mayor of Columbus, IN; Trevor
Lane, Regional Director, Indiana
Economic Development Council;
Cindy Frei, President of Columbus
Area Chamber of Commerce; Jason Hester and Mark Pratt,
President and Chairman of Greater Columbus Economic Development
Corp.; members of the Lilienthal Family, shareholders of
the Lindal Group; Francois-Xavier Gilbert, Lindal Group CEO
and the entire Lindal senior management team. Guests were given
a guided tour of the plant floor and the executive offices. Among
the stops were the R&D lab, actuator assembly station, warehouse,
valve station, product range station and quality assurance lab. The
facility was completed
in one year, following
ten years at the original
Columbus site, and is
several times its size.
“Thanks to the hard
work, dedication and
skills of our Lindal
North America (LNA)
team led by Gonzalo
Frejenal (LNA Plant
Manager) and Jerry
Miller (LNA Technical Manager),
just within a year we have created
our 15-acre Columbus campus…”
said Gilbert.
“We anticipated the need for
integrated and centrally-located
resources for our wide range of U.S.
customers, as demand here continues
to grow.”
Gilbert added that the new Indiana
facility contributes to Lindal’s
international footprint, as the
company feels it must manufacture
in the U.S. in order to be a global supplier.
