The Southern Aerosol Technical Association’s (SATA) annual
meeting will be held September 18-20, 2018 at the Clearwater Beach
Marriott on Sand Key, Clearwater, FL. Highlights of the 38th annual
meeting will include new members meeting with the board, a
welcome reception, presentations, a golf tournament and reception.

The Aerosol Association of Australia (ACCC) is revamping
its training program for 2018. The program, which is currently
under development, will combine
ACCC’s popular “Introduction to
Aerosol Technology” course with
an optional advanced level course
on the second day with factory visits. Later this year, ACCC will also
reintroduce its one-day “Regulatory Workshop” examining workplace
and poisons labeling, labeling claims, transport requirements
and more.
The International Fragrance Association of North America
(IFRANA) has unveiled its new name: Fragrance Creators Association.
The updated identity is based on the organization’s onus
that fragrance can enhance lives, beyond all
frontiers and cultures, and that values matter.
The organization’s new logo is designed to evoke
the creative, collaborative and humanistic spirit
of the industry, from farmers to scientists to
entrepreneurs. The organization’s brand rollout
also included a revamped website, fragrancecreators.
org, and updated social media platforms on
Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Coty Professional Beauty North America opened a new North
American headquarters in Calabasas, CA on May 24. The 26-acre
campus, located at 4500 Park Granada, is designed to inspire
creativity and give respite from the LA cityscape for Coty colleagues
and salon professionals. The facility has two separate centers: the
General Office with an open, collaborative space for marketing,
consumer research and finance employees; and the Studio Annex,
a space where Coty educators and ambassadors can experiment and
train salon professionals using the latest techniques and trends.
The American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) Plastics Division announced
it is committed to creating a circular economy for plastics
with the following goals: by 2020, 100% of ACC’s Plastics Division
members’ manufacturing sites are to participate in Operation Clean
Sweep-Blue; by 2030, 100% of plastics packaging to be recyclable or
recoverable and by 2040, 100% of plastics packaging to be reused,
recycled or recovered. These goals will be met by designing new and
efficient products, recycling and
reusing materials, developing

On June 6, Eastern Aerosol Association
(EAA) members took in
a Somerset Patriots minor league
baseball game as the NJ-based home
team took on the Sugar Land Skeeters
from Texas. Fans were treated to an
Aerosol Can Race between innings,
which highlighted the versatility and
recyclability of aerosol products.

McBride announced a plan to cease aerosol manufacturing in the
UK. It will close its Hull plant by spring of 2019 with a loss of 117
jobs. McBride reported the Group’s European Personal Care &
Aerosols (PCA) business has deteriorated financially in the past
few years and the aerosols business has specifically experienced
extreme margin pressures and operating losses for the year ended
June 30.
