Savvy consumers increasingly believe that natural can also be beautiful and deliver efficacy. These consumers pay attention to labels and lean towards products that exclude potentially harmful ingredients. Following this trend, marketers have been increasingly reformulating their products with a higher proportion of truly natural ingredients. To that point, new Danish beauty brand Nuori offers products free from preservatives and synthetic additives. The line includes Vital Body Balm, Vital Foaming Cleanser, Vital Hand Cream and Supreme C Serum Treatment. The products come in Yonwoo packaging developed by Quadpack (see page 14). Jäson Sheer Spray Lotion provides instant, lightweight moisture for extremely dry skin. It has 95% natural contents, including softening cocoa butter and Vitamin E. It is a botanically rich moisturizer that goes on evenly and absorbs quickly, with no greasy or heavy feel on skin. The continuous spray application works at any angle for quick, all-over coverage. It is packaged in a BOV system with Moritz accessory from Aptar. The Road Ahead… Looking ahead to 2025, Mintel Beauty & Personal Care has announced several trends set to impact global personal care and beauty markets over the next decade, including implications for both consumers and brands. In a future where the line between human and technological device blurs, water becomes a protected resource, energy concerns ring true and natural ingredients take center stage, beauty brands must innovate to stay relevant. “We are living in exciting times with revolutionary advancements in technology, brand partnerships and product development,” explained Mintel’s Jan Henderson. “However, we think the coming years will bring stark contrasts in personal technology and natural ingredients that will drive beauty innovation over the next decade. Already, beauty manufacturers are working on new generations of beauty products that will satisfy consumers’ needs for speed and efficacy.” Euromonitor International predicts that personal care and beauty will see modest growth ahead. Average disposable incomes are expected to grow as the U.S. economy continues to grow and unemployment rates decline. Higher incomes will allow more consumers to buy more premium products. However, the improvements in the economy will lead some consumers to spend more on beauty services and therefore constrain demand for certain at-home beauty products. An aging population will also become more prominent, driving growth in areas that cater to older generations, such as anti-aging skin care and eyebrow makeup.
