Spray Patterns AVA CARIDAD The global aerosol valve market is expected to reach $1.73 billion by 2022, according to a new report by Grand View Research, Inc. Rising expenditures for the use of bag-on valve technology by personal care manufacturers, including P&G and Unilever, in their products is expected to promote the application of aerosol valves in the near future. Further key findings from the report suggest:  • Global aerosol valves demand was 14.92 billion units in 2014 and is expected to cross 18.50 billion units by 2022, growing at a rate of 2.8% from 2015 to 2022. • Demand for continuous valves exceeded 12 billion units in 2014. • Valves for medical applications are expected to witness growth at a rate of 1.6%, in terms of volume, from 2015 to 2022. Key findings of the study include: • In 2013, the industry added nearly $237 billion to the U.S. gross domestic product and supported 3.6 million domestic jobs that earned $144 billion in wages and incomes through its direct, indirect and induced contributions. • In 2014, the personal care products industry exported nearly $17 billion, contributing nearly $6 billion to the nation’s surplus while the overall U.S. manufacturing sector experienced trade deficits. • Over two-thirds of the total employment in the industry is in small businesses with less than 50 employees. • The share of management positions held by women in the personal care products industry is higher than the U.S. average. Women and those with diverse backgrounds account for nearly 74% of all industry employment and 61% of management positions. • Cosmetics manufacturers invest nearly $3 billion in research and development annually and continue to provide consumers an array of innovative, high-quality products. The expansion of the automotive industry in Mexico, coupled with its close proximity to the U.S., is expected to play a crucial role in fueling valve demand for paints and coatings packaging. • Latin America is expected to witness growth, at a rate of 2.9% from 2015 to 2022, in terms of volume. Expansion of the personal care sector in Brazil in light of rising domestic consumption is likely to favorably impact the aerosol industry in the near future.
