A week-long Asia-Pacific aerosol event A week of aerosol-related activities is scheduled for early April, as the Aerosol Association of Australia gets ready to host aerosolsydney2014. The event not only marks the Association’s 50th anniversary, it also comprises an industry forum featuring international and local speakers, an invitation-only cocktail function, the Aerosol Industry Awards Gala Dinner and the annual meeting of the Asian Aerosol Federation. (www.aerosol-asia.org) A special condensed version of the Association’s popular Introduction to Aerosol Technology training course will also be held on April 1, with optional factory tours available to course attendees. Recognizing excellence This year marks twenty years since the first aerosol awards event was held by the Association. Philip Fleming, Association Executive Director, noted that the aim of the Awards is to promote and recognize innovation and excellence and remain as relevant now as they did in 1994. “Along the way we have fine-tuned the Awards categories to reflect contemporary issues such as recycling (and now sustainability) and the entry criteria have been widened— first to New Zealand and then, in 2014, to members of the Asian Aerosol Federation—to reflect the regional interest and audience that they attract,” he explained. Categories for 2014 are Sustainability, Innovation (Product or Processes), Innovation (Aerosol Package Design), Developing New Aerosol Markets and Aerosol Product of the Year.
