Sustainovations number of uses. This represents a dramatic reduction in global warming potential and greenhouse gas emissions. A third sustainovation in aerosols is Color Ultimate, the first multi-use, no-mixing permanent hair coloration in Europe. This innovation was made possible by using aerosol foam technology and is a significant step forward in value and convenience for hair color users. Traditional application methods of permanent hair color for home use have been established for several decades. For lack of alternatives, they are accepted by consumers even though permanent hair coloration is a complicated and elaborate cosmetic product application. It requires the mixing of an alkaline “color” component with a liquid “hydrogen peroxide developer” prior to use to start the dye-forming process. The mixture is applied to the full head of hair for the initial coloration. For the coloring of re-growth areas after several weeks, a new package has to be used, as the initial application mixture can not be re-used once the dye-forming reaction has started. Convenient, temporary one-component hair toning products are available, but they are not permanent and are not a suitable alternative for the needs of permanent color users. Color Ultimate completely changes the traditional hair color application paradigm by bringing aerosol foam technology to permanent hair colorations. The color and developer components are stored in two aerosol cans attached together under a foam dispenser unit.
