A global perspective When I tell strangers of my profession, the response is very often, “Really? There’s a magazine for that? What can you say about aerosols month after month?” When I explain that aerosols are a multi-billion dollar industry, with aerosol associations, and indeed federations, in many countries on every continent save Antarctica, people are shocked. They take the worldwide appeal of aerosols for granted, but we at Spray never do. We always strive for the international perspective. For instance, next month, the Aerosol Association of Australia turns 50 years old, and they, along with the Asian Aerosol Federation, will be convening in Sydney for a weeklong series of events. Coverage of all things Australian can be found on page 16. Additionally, out of Germany, Dr. Thomas Förster from Henkel explains “Sustainovations,” a hybrid of sustainability and innovation in the aerosol industry. As Homer Simpson says, those Germans have a word for everything! See page 20. Our Canadian neighbor, Dr. Mike Moffat, once again keeps readers informed of International Regulatory Influences and our feature article takes a look at new contract filling facilities in both North and South America. Also in this issue, readers can find the 2014 annual Fillers Directory, a convenient alphabetical reference for finding filling partners in both the U.S. and overseas. The guide includes specific information on company location, contact details and the types of products filled. An interactive version is available at www.spraytm.com. Every year, we endeavor to present our readers with the most up-to-date information and contact resources. Our compilation is the result of various methods of data gathering, including a detailed questionnaire sent out each year to ensure that all of our facts are accurate and current. If you or your favorite filler isn’t listed or hasn’t been updated, be sure to let us know.   As always, we hope you enjoy this issue and find it useful. Editorial Director
