With annual net sales of approximately $5 million, Spraymate markets its products through both big box stores and independent dealers, while also producing marking paints for the mining industry under the brand name Mine Mate. Shangai Yuanlong Investment Co. Ltd., a major shareholder of China-based ORG Packaging, acquired both Ardagh Australia Pty. Ltd. and Ardagh New Zealand Ltd., the Australian and New Zealand arms of metal and glass packing manufacturer Ardagh Group which operate a total of five plants in the two countries. The acquired businesses will be renamed Jamestrong Packaging Australia & New Zealand. Rigid plastics packaging manufacturer Plastipak Packaging, Inc., a subsidiary of Michigan-based Plastipak Holdings, Inc., announced an agreement to purchase the APPE Packaging division of La Seda de Barcelona Group for a sum of €360 million ($388 million). Plastipak was the winning bidder in a November 2014 insolvency auction. The deal remains subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close in June or July 2015. SC Johnson acquired HomeBrands A.S. from Unilever Czech Republic. The acquisition expands SC Johnson’s offering in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and the Baltics and includes pest control, home cleaning and air care brands such as Biolit insecticides, Diffusil repellents, Lynn household cleaners and Citresin air fresheners. CRC Industries, Inc. announced its acquisition of Georgia-based ChemFree Corp. from Intelligent Systems Corp. ChemFree Corp. manufactures environmentally sensitive parts washing systems under the brand name SmartWasher. Luxury lifestyle brand Coach, Inc. announced an 11-year exclusive global fragrance licensing agreement with Interparfums SA, a Paris-based majorityowned subsidiary of Inter Parfums, Inc. Under the terms of the agreement, Interparfums will create, produce and distribute new Coach men’s and women’s perfumes and fragrance-related products for specialty stores, duty-free shops and Coach retail locations beginning in the Fall of 2016. Additionally, Interparfums reached an agreement with The Procter & Gamble Co. to acquire perfume brand Roches. Expected to be completed in the first half of 2015, the transaction is worth $108 million. The sale of Roches is part of an ongoing P&G effort to shed non-core brands, particularly in the cosmetics and fashion industries. Unilever signed an agreement to acquire British brand REN Skincare. Terms of the deal were not announced. The brand is sold mainly in specialty stores and pharmacies in 50 countries. The acquisition is expected to close in May. Shiseido announced it had reached an agreement with perfumer Serge Lutens to acquire the rights to use his name as a brand trademark. The agreement also ensures that Lutens, who has worked with Shiseido as an artistic director since 1980 after 12 years with Christian Dior, will stay on as Creative Director of the brand. SPRAY
