Packaging Innovations Salvalco Salvalco introduced the Eco-Valve, a new aerosol delivery system using compressed air as a propellant. The new system was patented by Salvalco (Salford Valve Company), a joint venture between UK-based AWI Group and the University of Salford. Testing has demonstrated that the Eco-Valve offers an environmentally-sensitive and VOC-free solution while also addressing common issues with compressed air delivery by providing consistent product evacuation, spray mist, particle size, density and exhaustion, according to the manufacturer. Rawlings After more than 150 years in the food and beverage industry, UK-based glass bottle manufacturer Rawlings has decided to diversify. For the first time ever, the company is now expanding into the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry, launching a new line of glass bottles and droppers in a plethora of shapes and colors, and in sizes ranging from 30–100mL, according to the company. The range also includes an array of caps, closures and pumps to fit any size opening. Yonwoo Quadpack’s Yonwoo brand released the Slim Well Pump, a slimline version of its best-selling Well Pump, embracing the current trend towards one-handed, on-the-go use. After opening the flip-top cap, a cotton wool pad can be pressed onto the disc-shaped actuator, releasing a metered dose. Hands are kept clean and dry, because there is no need for direct contact with the product inside. Additionally, the pump’s one-way valve helps prevent seepage and product contamination while ensuring waste-free, full product evacuation. The Slim Well Pump is a suitable travel-size counterpart to the Well Pump, according to the manufacturer. 40 Spray May 2015
