Mergers & Acquisitions Catalonian fragrance firm Puig acquired two niche perfume houses from Fox & Paine Co., LLC: UK-based Penhaligon’s London—producers of Blenheim Bouquet products and holders of a pair of British royal warrants— and L’Artisan Parfumeur Paris. The brands will join Puig’s fragrance portfolio, which includes Carolina Herrera and licensing agreements with Comme des Garçons and United Colors of Benetton. Dual dispensers manufacturer VariBlend announced the inception of BeautiBlend, a strategic partnership with Leading Edge Innovations, LLC (LEI), developers of MicroSperse Technology—oil-in-water formulations free of emulsifiers or surfactants. The idea of the partnership is to bring together cosmetic formulators, packaging innovators and marketers to better synchronize the development of customizable formulas in ergonomicallydesigned dispensers. 46 Spray March 2015 DSM Personal Care reached an agreement with distributor Mascot Universal Pvt. Ltd., allowing Mascot to exclusively market and sell DSM products in South Asia. Mascot, founded in 1969, has been distributing ingredients for personal care and healthcare products across India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh for over 20 years. Additionally, DSM announced that Arkem Kimya will serve as the company’s sole third-party distributor of personal care products in Turkey. Founded in 1992, Arkem Kimya distributes over 500 ingredients in the pharmaceutical and personal care industries. The Lubrizol Corp. completed its acquisition of Warwick Chemicals, a Welsh-based supplier of stain removal and hygiene additives for fabric cleaning. Warwick Chemicals joins the Lubrizol Advanced Materials division, part of the company’s personal and home care business. It will continue to use the Warwick Chemicals brand name.
