and Sales activities from experienced senior Colep members. The latest development in Colep’s Mexico facility is the creation of a Marketing & Innovation satellite. Additionally, an intensive training program in Europe and Asia is now underway, in order to learn from the largest contract manufacturing development group for aerosols.  Due to significant business growth across Canada, PLZ Aeroscience of Addison, IL opened a 50,000 sq. ft. distribution center in October 2014 in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. The facility will store finished goods and serve customer warehousing and distribution needs. It features a state-of-the-art fire suppression system specifically designed for aerosol facilities. Additionally, an all-new customer-centric Research & Development Center opened in Pacific, MO, in the fall of 2014. “This facility provides the space and environment for creativity, effective work throughput and a meeting place for chemists and customers to ‘imagineer’ new products,” stated Rommel Miranda, Senior VP, Sales & Marketing. Finally, a 160,000 sq. ft. global distribution center will open in October 2015 in Pacific, MO, to serve customers worldwide. Adjacent to its Pacific, MO, manufacturing facility, PLZ Aeroscience secured 16 acres of land upon which it will construct the distribution facility. The custom-built distribution center is expandable to 250,000 sq. ft., thereby offering room for future growth. “With groundbreaking planned for March 2015, this centrally-located U.S. facility will enable ease and speed in on-site storage and distribution of our customers’ finished goods,” said Miranda. Throughout 2014, PLZ Aeroscience invested over $10 million in capital improvements to automate filling lines and improve line speed. “These improvements were designed to provide PLZ the flexibility and capacity needed to grow the business and continue exceeding customer expectations,” explained Miranda. “Year-over-year, we’ve added 15% to our overall filling capacity across five manufacturing facilities in North America. Specifically, the Assured Packaging facility, which manufactures beauty and personal care products, has reconfigured its high-speed aerosol line for optimal capacity and performance. Located in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, the line improvements within this facility enable an additional 10 million units annually.” The Assured Packaging facility recently passed an extensive Health Canada audit. It now has the capability to batch and fill any O-T-C product (e.g. sunscreen or medicated foot spray). This year, a Multi-Pack Bundler was installed alongside a high-speed filling line located in the Pacific facility. The bundler enables PLZ to meet growing customer demands for multi-pack SKUs, which are typically sold via retail and club channels. “This significant capital investment enables us to consolidate bundle pack production and offer this technology to new and existing customers who are looking for a single-source contractmanufacturing partner who can get products to end customers quickly and efficiently. “It is our opinion that today’s aerosol contract-manufacturing customer is seeking a full-service solution provider that can offer extreme flexibility across its production lines and take a product idea all the way from formula development to the end customer’s doorstep,” concluded Miranda. “Customers are seeking business partners that have experience and expertise in every facet of the industry. We believe PLZ Aeroscience is poised for the future state of the contract-filling industry and is committed to continuous improvement; we will continue Miranda to reconfigure and optimize our filling lines to be more efficient, produce less waste and meet our customers’ growth goals.” Fareva, Richmond, VA, announced that aerosol filling will begin in its plant in July 2015 (BOV and standard aerosols); the plant is Ozone Transport Commission (OTC) approved.
