March 2015 Spray 33 Packaging Innovations Albéa D.N.Airless, the latest fully-airless packaging solution from Albéa, provides formulations with protection from airborne contaminants thanks to the manufacturer’s Nea airless technology. An integrated glass ball inside the engine and spring outside the dosage chamber help ensure that contents never come into contact with any metal packaging components, either, according to the company. The ergonomic package, including the collar, actuator and cap, provides smooth, delicate actuation with abundant customization opportunities. The bottles, available in 30-, 40- and 50mL sizes, can be decorated through silk screening, hot stamping, vacuum metalizing or offset varnishing. APPE/Power Container APPE launched SprayPET Reveal, a fully transparent bag-on-valve (BOV) system, allowing consumers to see through the outer container to the flexible pouch within. The result of an exclusive collaboration with Power Container, SprayPET Reveal combines APPE’s transparent, rigid plastic packaging with Power Container’s Power Pouch dispensing system. Power Pouch is manufactured from singlelayer PET, allowing for color customization and approved for use with food or foodbased products. The outer SprayPET containers can also be printed or sleeved. The SprayPET Reveal system can be used with standard actuators and is fully recyclable. Mega Airless Mega Airless developed a new child-resistant airless dispenser—the first of its kind, according to the company. Available in 30- and 50mL sizes with an 0.5- or 0.8mL dispenser, the new packaging solution features both a protective band and a press-and-rotate opening system; a downward press followed by an effortless turn removes the cap, making it suitable for elderly users, says the manufacturer. Quadpack The Body Care Collection is Quadpack’s first range of packaging solutions focused exclusively on body care products. The idea behind the new line is to provide body care packaging with the luxury feel associated with skin care products, according to the company. In addition to PET, aluminum and wood components are available. Included in the collection are bottles designed for body oil (100mL), hair oil spray (100mL), anti-cellulite lotion (200mL) and body wash (250mL).
