Johnsen & Associates, Ltd., celebrated his 90th birthday in April with a large party in Danville, IL, attended by numerous international friends. Surrounding Johnsen (seated) is (L to R) P. During his over 45 years in the aerosol industry, Johnsen has been involved with formulation development, quality issues and numerous environmental programs. Holder of degrees in chemistry and chemical engineering, Johnsen has served as Chairman of the Aerosol Division of the Consumer Specialty Products Assn. (CSPA) and later as Chairman of the entire association. He has written several books, book chapters and over 300 technical articles and has given aerosol presentations in numerous countries (often for the U.N.). He holds many awards, including “Man of the Year” from the Southern Aerosol Technical Assn. (SATA) and the Federation of Latin- American Aerosol Associations (FLADA), and membership in the prestigious Round Table Group of consultants. Johnsen is the recipient of the Charles E. Allderdice, Jr. Memorial Award from the CSPA for exemplary commitment and service to the consumer specialty products industry and the association. Cassill piloted the No. 40 CRC Knock’er Loose Chevrolet SS in the Duck Commander 500, the first of two races for CRC Industries this season. CRC Knock’er Loose returns as the primary sponsor of Cassill and the No. 40 Hillman Racing Chevrolet at Chicagoland Speedway on Sept. 20. Zep Commercial, a Zep Inc. brand, a consumable chemical packaged goods company that manufactures a wide variety of maintenance and cleaning chemicals, announced it has extended its sponsorship of the Cleaning for a Reason Foundation for a third year. Cleaning for a Reason Foundation is a grassroots, Dallas, TX-based organization that provides free house cleaning services to women undergoing cancer treatment across North America. Just in time for the 10th anniversary of Bond No. 9’s the Scent of Peace, Laurice Rahmé, President & Founder of Bond No. 9, announced that she and the New York–centric, NoHo–based global parfumerie she founded in 2003 received the Peace Award at the United Nations Women for Peace Association’s (UNWFPA) Annual Awards Luncheon, held at UN headquarters on March 6. Overseen by UN Secretary General Ban Ki– Moon, the award was presented by his wife, UNWFPA Patron Ban Soon–taek, as well as UNWFPA Board Chair Muna Rihani Al–Nasser. The award acknowledges Bond No. 9 and Rahmé’s support of UNWFPA, their ambition to spread peace internationally and their campaign to raise funds for the cause via the Scent of Peace eau de parfum.
