June 2015 Spray 35 Mergers & Acquisitions An affiliate of Texas-based private equity firm Peak Rock Capital announced that it has acquired aerosol valve and actuator manufacturer Precision Valve Holdings Corp. Terms of the deal were not immediately available. Founded in 1949 by Bob Abplanalp, inventor of the modern aerosol valve, Precision remains a major global producer of aerosol valves and other related dispensing equipment, operating a global network spanning sixteen countries on six continents. Bangladeshi conglomerate Advanced Chemical Industries (ACI) announced an agreement to sell a number of household brands to S.C. Johnson & Son. ACI Aerosol, Cockroach Killer Spray, Angelic Air Freshener, Mosquito Coil and Vanish Toilet Cleaner will all be owned by SC Johnson, who aims to strengthen the its footprint in the growing Bangladesh market. ACI Formulations will continue to manufacture the products for the next five years, while ACI Ltd. will continue to distribute them. Businessman Russell Blaikie acquired personal care, household and automotive aerosol products manufacturer Statestrong Ltd., preserving its Lytham St. Annes, UK-based facility and 80 jobs. The company will henceforth trade as Statestrong Products, Ltd. Personal care manufacturer Swallowfield plc reached an agreement to purchase Real Shaving Co., manufactures of men’s shaving and skin care products, for nearly £1.2 million ($1.9 million). Real Shaving Co. products are distributed throughout the UK, with an international presence in Canada and France. Revlon acquired CBBeauty, marketers and distributors of One Directionbranded perfumes and personal care products in more than 80 countries around the world. Founded by Corrado Brondi in 2011, CBBeauty also provides consulting services to a number of celebrity fragrance brands. The acquisition also includes SAS & Co, UK-based distributors of perfumes and colognes branded by celebrities including Cheryl Cole, Rihanna and Jay-Z. Coty Inc. acquired cosmetics brand Bourjois from Chanel in exchange for about 15.43 million shares of Coty’s Class A Common Stock, about a 4.2% stake of the company, according to Reuters. L’Oréal finalized its acquisition of Brazilian hair color products supplier Niely Cosmeticos. Niely operates two main brands: Cor & Ton hair color products and Niely Gold hair care products. SPRAY
