The British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association (BAMA) has been awarded a special commendation in the “Publication of the Year” category at the recent Trade Association Forum (TAF) Best Practice Awards for its Aerosols in Figures booklet. Aerosols in Figures is a factual journal noting key data about the industry. It includes a chart showing the UK sector’s filling figures covering every year since 1965, providing a record of a changing industry and changing fashions and habits among the population. After nearly 60 years in Midtown Manhattan, L’Oréal USA announced that it has moved into new U.S. headquarters at 10 Hudson Yards. Over the next few months, 1,300 L’Oréal USA employees will occupy 10 floors of the building, spanning more than 400,000 sq. ft. of the 1.8 million-square tower on Manhattan’s West Side. H&T Presspart announced the opening of a new sales office to cover the Latin America region in Montevideo, Uruguay. Rix joins from Revlon and will be based at the company’s European headquarters in London. She brings over 20 years of experience in strategic brand marketing and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the UK consumer business. New Avon LLC announced Betty Palm has been named the company’s President, Social Selling in the U.S. Palm will report directly to Scott White, CEO and join the New Avon Leadership Team. She will oversee all aspects of recruiting, training and incentivizing Representatives. Additionally, New Avon LLC announced that Helene Rutledge has been hired as the company’s Chief Innovation Officer. In this newly-created position, Rutledge will also report directly to Scott White. Jacques Braithwaite, Technical Manager at Specialized Maintenance Products and Vice Chairperson of the Aerosol Manufacturer’s Association of South Africa (AMA), passed away suddenly, after a brief illness, on June 5. His commitment to AMA Regulatory and Sustainable work groups in particular was both meaningful and exemplary, stated the AMA. Farouk Systems, Inc., announced that Lisa Marie Garcia, formerly the VP of Shows & Education, has been appointed to the new position of VP of Innovation & Product Development. In this role, she will focus on seeking out new products as well as researching the latest technologies and product testing systems. Andre Chiavelli, Farouk Executive VP of Sales will continue in his position but will now also oversee the Shows, Education, Schools and Public Relations Depts. After more than four decades at the forefront of dangerous goods (DG) regulatory compliance, Jeanne Zmich, VP Research & Development for Chicago-based Labelmaster, is retiring. Additionally, Bill Barger, an expert in hazmat/dangerous goods (DG) packaging with 30 years of industry experience, has joined Labelmaster as Senior Product Manager to lead the company’s Packaging Product Line. The Board of Management of the International Natural & Organic Cosmetics Association (NATRUE) has appointed Dr. Mark Smith as the new Director General of NATRUE. Smith joined NATRUE in June 2014 as Scientific Regulatory Manager. He will continue his role in these fields in addition to his responsibilities related to his new role as Director General. Burkhard Juergens has been appointed as the new General Manager for the sales division of CPL Aromas UK. This appointment follows the recent retirement of Chrissy Marshall, who stepped down as the UK’s General Manager at the end of March.
