The ideal candidate will have the following skills, characteristics and competencies: • Bachelors or higher degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering or comparable degree. • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in product development of institutional and industrial aerosol and non-aerosol products. Products would include cleaners, disinfectants, deodorants, industrial maintenance and janitorial products. • Be familiar with aerosol product technology and chemical blending processes. • Have strong technical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills. • Take a hands on approach to product development, troubleshooting • Understanding of regulatory issues as they relate to chemical products including VOC regulations, CARB, pesticides. • Motivated individual capable of working in a fast-paced environment and capable of setting goals and managing shifting priorities. • Prior management experience with degreed chemists and QA technicians. Primary responsibilities to include: • Manage lab staff composed of degreed chemists and QA technicians • Assist with product development as directed by Management • Manage regulatory compliance of Pesticides, RCRA, VOC compliance, RMP, SPCC, Stormwater, TRI, Tier II at the local, state and federal levels • Investigate and implement product specification changes as needed to address internal and external manufacturing challenges and quality • Investigate Quality events as needed to improve overall product quality and insure compliance with specifications. • Assist with review of raw materials to improve quality, product performance, reduce costs and meet regulatory requirements.
