September 2014 Spray 39 Mergers & Acquisitions Nestlé officially completed the acquisition of L’Oréal’s 50% stake in Galderma— originally announced in February—after formally establishing Nestlé Skin Health S.A., a wholly-owned subsidiary. Galderma will henceforth operate as the pharmaceutical branch of the Lausanne, Switzerland-based subsidiary. Stepan Company reached an agreement to acquire Procter & Gamble’s Bahia, Brazil sulfonation production facility. The deal is contingent upon the approval of Brazilian antitrust authorities and industrial regulators. Specialty chemicals firm HallStar acquired the Florasolvs line of natural, botanically-derived ester ingredients from FloraTech. The move is part of an effort to bolster HallStar’s portfolio of organic ingredients. Sealed Air acquired the Accel brand of cleaners and surface disinfectants from Virox Technologies. The deal allows Sealed Air access to Virox’s patented Accelerated Hydrogen Peroxide (AHP) cleaning technology. The brand will join Sealed Air’s Diversey Care division. Anti-aging skin care brand Perricone MD changed hands, sold by TSG Consumer Partners to Lion Capital LLP, a UK-based private equity firm with holdings including GHD and John Varvatos. SPRAY
