Olaf Klinger was appointed CFO of Symrise AG by the company’s Supervisory Board, succeeding Bernd Hirsch. Klinger brings more than 20 years of corporate finance experience to the position, most recently as a managing executive at Swiss-based healthcare provider Ameos. Manuel Gonzalez joined DS Healthcare as the company’s new Chief Commercial Officer. Prior to joining DS Healthcare, Gonzalez spent 23 years with Procter & Gamble, most recently as VP of Sales, where he was responsible for managing the company’s North American sales force. SPRAY People in the News Richard Dierker will succeed Matthew Farrell as Executive VP, Finance and CFO of Church & Dwight Co., Inc., effective Jan. 1, 2016, following Farrell’s shift to CEO. Dierker joined the company in 2009 and currently serves as VP, Corporate Finance. He has also been in charge of Supply Chain Finance, Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis and Investor Relations since 2012. Tom Enright joined MBC Aerosol as VP of Sales. He brings to the position over 30 years of experience in the aerosol industry in various sales capacities. Enright’s last ten years have been in global sales of KP aerosol machines. Belle Aire Fragrances, Inc. hired Stella Salisu as Senior Director of Fragrance Development, responsible for all creative development processes within the company. Salisu began her fragrance career as an Evaluation Scientist at International Flavors & Fragrances, Inc., and most recently held the position of Global Sensory Director at McCain Foods. Andreas Meier will take over the position of VP, Corporate Affairs Asia Pacific for chemical producer BASF SE. He currently serves as Director of Corporate Communications at BASF’s Florham Park, NJ office, a position he has held since 2010. Meier succeeds Christian Schubert, who will take over BASF’s Berlin office on Nov. 1. Nu Skin Enterprises, Inc. appointed Ryan Napierski as the company’s new President of Global Sales. A 20-year veteran of the company, Napierski most recently served as President of Nu Skin Japan and Nu Skin North Asia. He succeeds Dan Chard. ISSA named John Barrett Executive Director, succeeding John Garfinkel, who held the position for 25 years. Barrett is currently Vice Chairman of Chicago-based Barrett property management technology firm SMS Assist and has held prior executive positions at Kimco Corp., Gemini Dierker 36 Spray October 2015 Salisu Meier Enright Napierski Schubert Klinger Regulatory Issues Continued from p. 8 LVP-VOC Studies CARB staff provided an update on the University of California, Riverside study of low vapor pressure (LVP) VOCs on Aug. 21. This is the study involving the chamber study work. More testing on certain compounds will be done and the study will likely be ongoing into next year. We will need to evaluate all of the data then. Consumer Product Survey The work continues on the CARB Consumer Product Survey; Phase II of the survey is due on Nov. 2, 2015. This is an update to sales for 2013 products with 2014 sales and any new products introduced in 2014. EPA/ SNAP On Sept. 11, 2015, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) held a meeting in Washington D.C. to exchange information with stakeholders on the Significant New Alternative Policy (SNAP) Program. Remember, EPA just finished an amendment process that severely affects the use of HFC-134a in aerosols. This meeting discussed the consideration of next steps, which hopefully don’t affect aerosols. More on this in the next issue. OTC The Ozone Transport Commission (OTC) Stationary Source Committee held its regular quarterly meeting on Sept. 10 in Washington D.C. As of late, OTC has not made much headway with getting the EPA to adopt the OTC Model Rules. SPRAY
