DS Containers’ New Distribution Center at 2500 Enterprise Circle, West Chicago, IL. November 2015 Spray 29 DSC celebrates 10 years and recent expansion… DS Containers (DSC) celebrated its 10th anniversary on Sept. 18 with an open house at the aerosol can company’s Batavia, IL plant. The event featured a tour of the facility and a celebratory event. Customers, suppliers, and vendors were in attendance. Isamu Yamaguchi (CEO of DS Containers), visited from Japan and had the opportunity, along with all of the DSC team, to give appreciation and thanks to all of their customers that have supported them since 2005. In 2005, DS Containers opened the doors to a state-of-theart manufacturing plant in Batavia, IL. Using proprietary technology developed by their DSC staff celebrates 10 years Japanese partner, Daiwa Can Co., the 236,000 square foot facility produces a two-piece steel aerosol can. Additionally, Yamaguchi announced the company’s latest plans for expansion. On the 10th anniversary of building a 236,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Batavia, DSC is now expanding. The manufacturer was in need of additional space and broke ground in West Chicago for a 300,278 square foot build-to-suit distribution center just one mile northeast of its headquarters. Situated on 14.55 acres, the space is expandable by approximately 250,000 square feet for future aerosol manufacturing lines. Yamaguchi attributes DSC’s growth and success over the last ten years to the hard work and dedication of the entire DSC team, as well as the management team, which includes William Smith, Jr., President & COO; John Duffy, Executive VP & CFO and Matt Kuehn, VP of Sales, Marketing & Technology. Spray William Smith, Sr., founding CEO of U.S. Can Co., established DS Containers as a partnership with Japanese Daiwa Can Co. in 2004 before commencing production in 2005. He passed away in 2008.
