Industry News Ball Aerocan completed the initial phase of its aluminum aerosol can production facility in Ahmedabad, India’s fifth-largest city. Ball hopes to commence production of aluminum aerosol cans there by the third quarter of 2015 to meet surging demand in both country and region. With assistance from the British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association (BAMA), the Association for Science Education (ASE) has revised the aerosol section of the School Science website. The refreshed section uses aerosols as a practical case study to teach students about kinetic theory and pressure and includes relevant images and self-test questions. The Engineering Project Center, North America will begin by overseeing construction of a polypropylene catalyst production plant in Louisville, as well as an expansion of the company’s Pasadena, TX surfactantproducing ethoxylation site. Robertet completed construction of a new headquarters facility for its fragrance and ingredient division. The new $20 million Mount Olive, NJ facility includes a “state of the art” innovation center, according to Christophe Maubert, Global President of the company’s fragrance division. To meet growing demand in the world’s most populous country, Ashland Inc. launched a Chineselanguage website, www.ashlandchina. com. Ashland currently operates four manufacturing facilities in China, as well as a regional headquarters office in Shanghai. In total, the company employs about 700 people in the country. Nolato Jaycare developed a method of printing Braille directly onto the surface of plastic containers at thicknesses of up to 0.5mm while maintaining a uniform print height. The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) analyzed Nolato’s printing and found it fully decipherable; in some cases it was reported as preferable to traditional Braille embossed on adhesive labels.
