People in the News The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. (EL) announced three Executive Leadership Team promotions, effective Jan. 1. Stephane de la Faverie was promoted to Global Brand President, Origins and Darphin. He will continue to report to Jane Hertzmark Hudis, Group President, EL. He previously held the role of Senior VP/General Manager, Origins and Darphin. Beth DiNardo was promoted to Global Brand President, Smashbox. She will continue to report to John Demsey, Executive Group President, EL. Daniel Rachmanis was promoted to President, Latin America. He will continue to report to Cedric Prouvé, Group President, International, EL. Rachmanis lead the company’s growth in Latin America including a shift to a retail distribution model, the launch of seven new brands and expansion into more than 30 key second-tier cities across 17 markets. Georges Bouille, aerosol industry expert on bag-on-valve (BOV) technology, joined the Lindal Group as a consultant. Bouille will support Lindal’s production and product development of BOV platforms in a range of market segments. He will collaborate closely with all Lindal Group teams, including the Global Innovation Center, sales management and Lindal France. His career began as a business consultant before joining the aerosol can company Nussbaum AG. In 1991, Bouille was a proponent in introducing the BOV dispensing technology internationally, through EP Spray System. Bouille served as VP Sales & Marketing for Aptar Group after it acquired EP Spray System and he later served as VP Business Development for the Consumer Healthcare division of Aptar Pharma. Kasper Rorsted is leaving consumer goods firm Henkel in April to become CEO of Adidas. Rorsted has been CEO at Henkel for eight years. He was widely seen as seeking a new challenge after Henkel lost out to Coty 46 Spray March 2016 Inc. in a bid to buy hair care firm Wella from Procter & Gamble last year. Hans Van Bylen, who has worked at Henkel since 1984 and has headed the beauty care business since 2005, will take over as Henkel CEO on May 1. Henkel has not named a successor for Van Bylen yet. Bell Flavors & Fragrances appointed Fe Geda as Quality Control Manager at the Middletown, NY facility. She will manage the dayto day operations of the quality control laboratory. Geda brings over 25 years of fragrance quality control experience and previously worked at Takasago. Karen Graves appointed Sensory Director at Bell’s headquarters in Northbrook, IL. Graves has 12 years of experience in sensory and consumer research, having worked at Kraft Foods. She holds a Master’s of Science in Food Science with a specialization in Sensory Science from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. Robert Siegel was promoted to Senior Perfumer. Siegel started at Bell in 1992 as a Fragrance Lab Geda Technician. He was accepted as an apprentice member of the American Society of Perfumers in 2000 and a full member in 2005. He gained experience at Flavor & Fragrance Specialties and Orchidia Fragrances before returning to Bell as Perfumer in 2011. Arcade Beauty appointed Peter Lennox President & CEO starting Feb 1. Lennox has international business experience gained in a variety of blue chip consumer packaged goods environments. He started his career in sales and marketing first at American Express and then Sun Coast Plastics. He then moved to Graham Packaging to run various global businesses including Graham’s Personal Care and Speciality Business before becoming President of Graham Packaging North America. In 2012, Lennox moved to Pregis Protective Packaging where he became President of its European business. In 2014, he joined AEA Investors as an operating partner. Lonza appointed Dr. Jamie Hawkes as Global Head of Hair Care Technology for its Personal Care business. He will drive technical and business efforts as he leads the hair care technology team in the newly constructed Global Centre of Hair Care Technology in Manchester, UK. Hawkes will also collaborate with sales and marketing, managing an international network of technical efforts in hair care within Lonza's regional laboratories. Symrise announced two additions to its Cosmetic Ingredients division. Arnaud Bellon has joined the division as Senior VP Global Head Botanicals & Colors. His new role is to globally refine business development for botanicals, cosmetic ingredients and colors. Bellon was previously with Croda. Caroline Baptiste has become Global Product Manager, Actives. She will be managing the Cooling/Warming, Moisturizing and Bioactives segments within the category. Baptiste was previously R&D Project Manager Cosmetic Actives at Yves Rocher. Bouille Lennox Rorsted Graves Siegel The French Aerosol Committee (CFA) announced Henri-Marc de Montalembert is retiring on March 1 after almost 12 years as director. Montalembert joined CFA in 2004 and worked on various projects dealing with safety, environmental protection and regulatory evolution. Succeeding Montalembert is Xavier Camidebach, who brings 13 years of marketing and sales experience with Precision Valve and is a contributor to the creation and deployment of the Aerosol & Dispensing Forum.
