Additionally, CSPA is engaged in a major update of the CSPA Aerosol Propellants Safety Manual. The 130-page manual is titled Aerosol Propellants: Considerations for Effective Handling in the Aerosol Plant Laboratory, and the current Third Edition was issued in 2010. The major rewrite will add new propellants and new requirements, including those to assure consistency with the 2015 version of NFPA Code 30B. The manual has been used for decades by aerosol fillers and laboratories to facilitate safe handling of aerosol propellants, according to CSPA. The final draft will be available for public comment during March and will be provided to participants at the CSPA Aerosol Propellants Safety Seminar being held on March 16. Comments should be sent to D. Douglas Fratz at dfratz@cspa.org or (202-833-7304). CPL Aromas launched Aromafusion, its range of in-house specialist ingredients available exclusively to its perfumers. Aromafusion allows perfumers access to new creations using unique, high-quality materials unavailable elsewhere in the industry. Aromafusion is solely for the development of fragrances and increases the number of raw materials available. In response to the State of California recently adding Bisphenol A (BPA) to its Proposition 65 list of chemicals, the Research & Regulatory Management Council (RRMC), a program within CSPA, is forming a new consortia of companies that manufacture, formulate, distribute and/or sell consumer products containing BPA. It will generate scientific data and prepare companies to defend against Proposition 65 litigation related to BPA Maximum Allowable Dosage Level (MADL). Membership in the new RRMC consortia is open to CSPA member and non-CSPA member companies. The State of California has set a deadline of May 11, 2016 for companies to add a warning to their label, use an alternative to BPA, cease sale of all products containing BPA or establish a MADL and ensure products are below the limit. For more information contact Jessica Bartlow, Director, RRMC at jbartlow@cspa.org or 202-833- 7328. The Valspar Corp. announced that its packaging division launched a new website to spotlight its valPure non-BPA product line of coatings for light metal packaging.
