Mergers & Acquisitions Aerosols and consumer chemicals manufacturer James Briggs Ltd has signed a distribution deal with French company Firex that will see it expand into the African market for the first time. The Oldham, UK-based firm will supply private label maintenance products to countries including Mali, Senegal and Cameroon through the French distributor, while its inhouse design team will work on local branding. PLZ Aeroscience announced the acquisition of Apollo Technologies. The acquisition will complement repellents in Brazil. SC Johnson did not disclose the financial details of the deal. The Estée Lauder Cos. Inc. announced it has signed an agreement to acquire Too Faced, the feminine makeup brand, for about $1.45 billion. Additionally, the company announced that it has completed its acquisition of BECCA, a makeup brand offering complexion and color products that flatter a wide range of skin tones. UK packaging provider Collcap Group Ltd and international packaging manufacturer and provider Quadpack Industries SA have merged. The combined group will retain the Quadpack name. Collcap’s office in Leek, Staffordshire, will be the centre of the group’s UK operations, while Quadpack’s Barcelona office in Spain remains as global headquarters. Collcap founder John McDermott becomes a Quadpack Industries board member. Easyfairs announced its acquisition of Pentawards, the worldwide competition dedicated to packaging design in all its forms. Pentawards’ primary mission is to increase awareness of packaging design and those who create it. Its 55 categories are open to all those across the globe who are associated with the creation or marketing of packaging, and are judged by an international jury consisting of 12 designers and packaging design directors from major companies.
