“I told you to stop fooling with that darn thing!” January 2015 Spray 31 Industry News The Aerosol Promotion Council (APC) of India will host the annual meeting of the Asian Aerosol Federation (AAF) Feb. 13 at The Lalit Hotel in Mumbai, India. In conjunction with the meeting, the APC will host Indian Aerosol Expo 2015, a two day conference and trade show. The first since 2012, the Expo is targeted towards fillers and manufacturers of aerosol packaging, formulations and propellants from the APC’s six member nations and around the world. Energizer Personal Care revealed plans to increase operations at the company’s Ormond Beach, FL plant with the addition of a new manufacturing line. The $9 million expansion will allow the facility to begin producing aerosol products, including sun care products for the company’s Hawaiian Tropic and Banana Boat brands. After the 2008 acquisition of Playtex Products LLC, then-owner of the two sun care brands and the Ormond Beach plant, Energizer selected the plant for expansion due to local and state economic incentives, many of which are contingent upon Energizer’s pledge to pay employees at the site an average annual wage of $39,000. Anticipating growth in the regional market, Lindal Group announced a $3.5 million expansion of its Mexican valve and actuator production facilities aimed at increasing production capacity. Production of actuators in Mexico began earlier this year, with a second phase of expansion planned for 2015. The move comes after Lindal Group became the sole owner of Lindal de Mexico, purchasing the remaining 49% earlier this year. In advance of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) release of the updated Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Labelmaster released its Early 49 CFR book containing up-to-date regulations for the shipping and transport of dangerous goods. While the updated regulations are established as of Oct. 1, the government typically does not publish them until March, according to the company. The expansion includes a 40% increase in the company’s sales force.
