People in the News Patricia Lopez was named Senior VP & General Manager, North America of Estée Lauder and the company’s AERIN Beauty brand, effective Jan. Lopez Touboul 12. Most recently, Lopez served as Chief Marketing Officer at Avon following 25 years with Procter & Gamble. She will be responsible for overseeing Estée Lauder’s flagship brand in North America, as well as developing AERIN Beauty’s luxury fragrance and personal care business. She will report directly to Jane Hertzmark Hudis, Global Brand President, and Thia Breen, Group President, North America. Matthew Farrell was named COO of Church & Dwight Co., Inc., manufacturer of household and personal care products under the Arm & Hammer trademark. In addition to the new position, Farrell will maintain his current role of CFO and VP, Finance. Ball Corp. announced the promotion of Daniel Rabbitt to the newlyexpanded role of VP and general manager, Ball Aerocan. In this position, he will be responsible for Ball’s aerosol operations in North America and Europe, as well as planned operations in India, scheduled to commence in 2016. Additionally, Ball named Stanley Platek the new general manager for Ball Aerocan Europe. After completing the acquisition of a Querétaro, Mexico aerosol manufacturing facility, Colep made a pair of appointments within its North American sales team. Jason Quinn was named Sales Manager, North America. He brings experience from roles such as Packaging Consultant at TricorBraun and Territory Manager for Rieke Packaging Systems. Additionally, Paulo Sousa, current Commercial Director of the Consumer Products Division, 36 Spray February 2015 will take over the position of Sales Director for the Americas. Following the stepping-down of Tayaout Perret, the Board of Directors of ASM Aerosol-Service AG approved Peter Bernauer as the company’s new CEO. He has been with ASM since 2005 and previously served as CFO. Lukas Mundwiler, who served as interim CEO prior to Bernauer’s appointment, was promoted to COO. He has been with the company since 2002. RSC Chemical Solutions, manufacturer of lubricants and degreasers under the brand names Gunk and Liquid Wrench, announced that Mike Guggenheimer, Senior VP, Strategy & Corporate Development, will take over as CEO, effective Jan. 1. He will replace John Huber, who led the company for 14 years. Djalma Novaes Jr. was named the new President of the Americas Division of Crown Holdings, Inc., effective January 1. Novaes, who first joined Crown in 1998, currently serves as President of Crown’s Brazilian operations. He replaces Raymond L. McGowan, Jr., who announced his intention to retire after seven years in the position. Dr. Ulrich Roeske, Chairman of packaging steel producer Thyssen- Krupp Rasselstein since 2005, was elected President of the Association of European Producers of Steel for Packaging (APEAL). He succeeds Christan Korn of U.S. Steel, and began serving on Jan. 1. CPL Aromas hired Olivier Touboul as Sales Manager for the company’s French operations. He brings 17 years of experience to the company in sales management roles at fragrance houses such as IFF and Takasago. CPL also appointed two new development chemists to its R&D team. Genna Magnall was named Senior Household Care Chemist. Bringing four years of experience from Robert McBride Ltd., she will be based in the company’s Brixworth, UK site. Additionally, David Rees was named Encapsulation Chemist, in charge of developing CPL’s fragrance Magnall encapsulation technology. With six years’ experience at ISP Microcaps, now a division of Ashland Specialty Ingredients, Rees will also join the Brixford facility. Seth Pasternack was named Senior Marketing Manager for organic fragrance and flavors firm Robertet USA. He brings personal care industry marketing experience from companies including Elizabeth Arden and Coty to the newly-created position. Additionally, Robertet Group appointed Sharon Jones to the position of VP, Information Technology & Chief Information Officer of Robertet USA. She brings over 25 years of IT experience in the industry. In the wake of CFO Kevin Berryman’s departure, International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. (IFF) announced the appointment of current VP & Controller Richard O’Leary to the position of Interim CFO.
