According to market research firm Euromonitor
International, U.S. consumers spent $452.8 million
on household polishes in 2016; according to the
CSPA, aerosol polishes accounted for
53.7 million units.

on surfaces and in the air. It easily picks up dust,
fingerprints and smudges from just about anywhere
in the house.

Euromonitor International indicated that Spray/Aerosol Air
Fresheners in the U.S. saw sales of $676.9 million in 2016,
with the CSPA reporting that 588.8 million Room Deodorants/
Disinfectants were filled that year.
The most exciting launch came from Seventh Generation,
Inc., acquired by Unilever in 2016, who announced the
launch of Seventh Generation Disinfectant Spray. The aerosol
product kills 99.99% of bacteria and viruses using Clean-
Well technology, a disinfectant formula based on thyme oil,
according to the company. The new products help eliminate
odors and feature scents made with essential oils and botanical
extracts: Lavender Vanilla & Thyme, Fresh Citrus & Thyme
and Eucalyptus, Spearmint & Thyme. There is no rinse
required after use, even on food-contact surfaces, a unique
attribute in the category, asserts Seventh Generation.
The new disinfectant is appropriate for use in homes and is
effective at killing viruses specifically: Rhinovirus type 37 (the
common cold virus) and Influenza A viruses,
including H1N1. It’s also effective at killing
bacteria, specifically Staphylococcus aureus,
Salmonella enterica, Pseudomonas aeruginosa
and Escherichia coli. The spray is powered by
compressed air, utilizing continuous 360° spray
technology from Power Container that won’t
lose pressure.
Containing Febreze’s new OdorClear technology,
Febreze ONE Fabric & Air Mist from
P&G gently removes odors with just a hint of
scent. The spray gently cleans away odors from
both fabrics and the air without dyes or perfumes.
The reusable nozzle allows consumers to
switch between other Febreze ONE scent refills,
which include Bamboo, Mandarin and Orchid.
