Innovation Winner Aptar Beauty + Home Aptar Beauty + Home’s Runway actuator is a new dual aerosol trigger accessory that offers the user a choice of spray action: actuate vertically or actuate via the trigger. The standard vertical actuation is suited for short, precise application. The trigger is designed for more prolonged use. The product is easy and comfortable to use, giving better dispensing control as it allows 360° actuation. It fits on the industry standard 1" mounting cap. The trigger offers benefits for many product applications where consumers want to easily spray all areas of the body. Anticipated applications are sun protection products and hair sprays. The judges also felt that this product could have use to those with hand mobility problems, especially in an aging population. For more, see page 16. Runner up: Colep UK Ltd Colep, together with its development partner, One Asia Network, pioneered a new specialist Body Oil Foam application bringing new functionality and Highly commended: innovation in dispensing a body oil with foam. Colep UK Ltd The judges decided to highly commend Colep’s Metal Packaging Division for its development of a new invisible seam innovation for tinplate aerosol cans that reduces the appearance of the side seam.
