Avon Products, Inc. announced the appointment of James Scully to the role of Executive VP & CFO, effective April 1. He will lead all finance and information technology functions, reporting directly to CEO Sheri McCoy. Scully joined Avon after nine years as Executive VP with clothing retailer J. Crew, including two years as COO. Prior to J.Crew, Scully served in leading financial positions at Saks, Inc. and Bank of America. Robertet appointed Thomas Cornelson as the company’s new VP, Flavor & Fragrance Supply Chain. He brings 20 years of chemical industry experience and most recently served as Robertet’s VP of Operations. Robertet also hired Lucy Adler as Senior Director of Sales. Adler brings 20 years of fragrance industry experience, serving as VP, Fragrance Sales & Marketing at Ungerer & Co. President & COO Chris Brickman took over as CEO of Sally Beauty Holdings, Inc., succeeding Gary Winterhalter, who had served as CEO since the company was separated from the Albert-Culver Co. in 2006. Brickman joined the company in 2012 and has served as COO since June 2014. Before joining the company, he was President of Kimberly-Clark International. Winterhalter will remain with the company as Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors. The Consumer Specialty Products Association (CSPA) promoted Owen Caine to the position of Associate Director, State Affairs. Caine joined CSPA’s Legislative Affairs department in 2013. He will also maintain his current position of Staff Executive in the Polishes & Floor Maintenance Division. The Personal Care Products Council (PCPC) elected Thia Breen, The Estée Lauder Cos., as its new Board Chair at the 2015 Annual Meeting, in February in Palm Beach, FL. Breen currently serves as Group President, North America for Estée Lauder, in charge of 30 brands in the U.S. and Canada. She succeeds Elizabeth Arden, Inc. chairman E. Scott Beattie, who held the position since 2012. Additional PCPC elected officers include Vice Chairs George Calvert, Amway; Karen Fondu, L’Oréal; and Heidi Manheimer, Shiseido Cosmetics; Treasurer David Holl, Mary Kay; and Secretary Pamela Baxter, LVMH Perfumes & Cosmetics. New Board members include Jane Iredale, Iredale Mineral Cosmetics and Alexandra Keith, Procter & Gamble. Benjamin Karsch joined Revlon as Executive VP & Chief Marketing Officer, Revlon Consumer. He was selected for his work as Chief Marketing Officer at Cigna, where he transitioned the company’s U.S. health insurance business from a B2B model to a consumer-centric focus, according to Revlon. He also brings experience from marketing roles with Las Vegas Sands, McKinney & Co., P&G and Johnson & Johnson. Crown Holdings, Inc. announced the promotion of David Beaver to the position of VP & Corporate Controller, effective March 3. In the new role, Beaver will be responsible for all internal and external financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting and forecasting under Thomas Kelly, Senior VP & CFO. Beaver joined Crown in 2010 as Assistant Corporate Controller. He previously served as Senior Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers. The Manufacturing Institute announced its intention to honor Ball Corp.’s Jamie Arnold and Tamra Wolny at this year’s Women in Manufacturing Science, Technology, Engineering & Production (STEP) Awards. The STEP Awards honor women in the manufacturing industry who have distinguished themselves through excellence and leadership. Wolny Following the American Cleaning Institute’s (ACI) Annual Meeting & Industry Convention in January in Orlando, FL, the Board of Directors elected Tom O’Brien, Senior VP, Sasol Performance Chemicals, the new Chair. Bill Littlefield, Phoenix Brands LLC, was named Vice Chair, while Firmenich Inc.’s Joy Atkinson was elected Treasurer. Other elected officers include Ernie Rosenberg, President, and Douglas Troutman, Corporate Secretary. DSM Personal Care, a division of Royal DSM’s Nutritional Products unit, hired Mélanie Waeckel as head of marketing for the company’s growing hair care business. She brings experience as a formulation engineer with Boots and later from leadership roles with Eugéne Perma Paris and Unipex Group. Ron Birnbaum was named Business Director for Evonik Industries AG’s Personal Care business in North America, effective Feb. 1. Since joining Evonik’s predecessor, Degussa AG, in 2000, Birnbaum has served as Sr. Project Manager of In-house Consulting and VP, North America for the High-Performance Polymers division. He also brings prior experience with ICI Americas and Bayer AG. Amcor Ltd. chairman Graeme Liebelt announced that the Board of Directors elected Ron Delia as the company’s next CEO following the retirement of Ken MacKenzie. Delia joined Amcor in 2005 and has served as CFO since 2011. MacKenzie spent 10 years as CEO and Managing Director before stepping down.
