Based in the UK, Deb foaming hand soaps, heavy-duty hand cleaners, sanitizers and antibacterial washes are used in more than 100 countries around the world. The deal is expected to be finalized in the coming months, pending regulatory approval. The Body Shop completed a deal to acquire the assets of Adidem Pty Limited, the company that operated The Body Shop’s Australian franchises since 1983. The move is intended to transition The Body Shop’s presence in the country from a franchisee operation to a company-owned model. As part of the company’s sustainability program, fragrance and flavors supplier Symrise AG announced a new partnership with CRIEPPAM, a French research institute devoted to promoting energy efficiency and reducing the environmental impact associated with the harvesting of aromatic perfume ingredients. Symrise will provide financial support to help CRIEPPAM achieve their goals. The company has stated a commitment to decreasing its carbon footprint 33% by 2020 and, eventually, ensuring that 100% of its raw materials are sustainably sourced. Mexico’s Federal Competition Commission (CFC) approved Crown Holdings, Inc.’s acquisition of Empaque, a Mexican manufacturer of aluminum cans, glass bottles and bottle caps for the beverage industry. Based in Monterrey, Empaque is currently owned by Heineken N.V. The $1.225 billion deal was originally announced in September 2014. After completing the acquisition, Crown will supply one-fifth of the world’s beverage cans, according to the company. SPRAY
