He noticed another 18-wheeler in his mirrors approaching from behind at a very high speed and was able to pull his truck onto the shoulder of the road and avoid a direct impact to his trailer, which contained a highly flammable mixture of pressurized gases. The other truck impacted at 70 miles per hour with a glancing blow that knocked off Perkin’s trailer’s rear axle; the oncoming truck then impacted a concrete barrier. “Keith’s quick thinking and immediate action prevented a major catastrophe,” said Aeropres President, Bob Wilkie. “Thankfully nobody was injured. We are very proud of Keith and very thankful that he was able to prevent injury to himself, the other driver and many others in the immediate area.” Pictured from left to right: LMTA President Kary Bryce; Perkins; and Lt.
