Spray Patterns BY AVA CARIDAD Editor The crematorium at Hamilton Park Cemetery, Newstead, New Zealand recently experienced a minor explosion when an aerosol can, placed as a remembrance inside a casket, ignited during a cremation. Crematorium attendant Kevin Perry stated that there was nothing unusual in this, as he has found— in the course of the 1,500 to 2,000 cremations performed there each year—everything from ammunition to fireworks slipped into caskets to be cremated with loved ones. Newhall Laboratories announced that its Soft & Dri brand is partnering with Play for P.I.N.K., a non-profit organization that raises funds for breast cancer research. Sales of specially-marked Soft & Dri aerosol and stick products sold in North America will support a $10,000 donation to the organization. Cosmoprof North America introduced Beautique at its most recent edition in Las Vegas, NV. The Lindal Group’s Katharina Lilienthal, VP Innovation & New Product Development, commissioned two artists to create a distinctive fresco to adorn the exterior of the company’s new Global Innovation Center in Briey, France. The facility is designed to promote the company’s global aerosol expertise and further support customers in development of newgeneration packaging solutions, said the company. The official launch for the facility is set for the first quarter of 2014. to participate in a one-stop beauty sampling concept, wherein attendees selected seven deluxesized samples from 20 featured exhibiting brands in exchange for a small charitable donation to benefit City of Hope. The event raised $11,000 for the charity, which supports research, treatment and education center for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases. The next edition of Cosmoprof North America will take place July 13–15 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV.
