The Estée Lauder Cos. Inc. appointed Pamela Gill Alabaster to lead its Global Corporate Responsibility function. Alabaster joins Estée Lauder from L’Oréal USA, where she held various senior leadership marketing and management roles, most recently serving as Senior VP, Corporate Communications, Sustainable Development & Public Affairs. Avon Products, Inc. appointed Brian Salsberg Senior VP, Global Strategy. He will report to Avon CEO Sheri McCoy and will join the company’s Executive Committee. Salsberg joins Avon from McKinsey & Co., Inc. The Hain Celestial Group, Inc. appointed Stephen Smith October 2013 Spray 29 People in the News as Executive VP & CFO. He replaces CFO Ira Lamel, who retired in August. Smith brings more than 30 years of financial leadership, having most recently been Executive VP & CFO of Elizabeth Arden, Inc. DSM welcomed Alexandre Rio as Head of Marketing, Personal Care North America. Before joining DSM, he worked as a scientist at Johnson & Johnson in France and BASF Beauty Creations in the U.S .and France. Valerie Jacob has joined AptarGroup as Director, Business Development of Gift + Promotion, in the Beauty + Home segment. She succeeds Isabelle Lallemant. Jacob has over 20 years experience in the perfumery and cosmetics markets, and held various positions in Sales & Marketing within packaging companies Pechiney and SGD. Seppic named Lionel Genix as its new President and CEO. Previously, he was the Sales Director for Dow Home & Personal Care North America and has also worked for Rohm & Haas, Procter & Gamble and L’Orèal. Pravana has appointed Tania Kingsrud Senior Director of Marketing & Advertising; Melissa Berry has been promoted to Art Director; Jamie Muniz was hired as Marketing Assistant; Meryl Berdinka and R.W. Miller are the new Directors of Sales; Dee Schoff-Mefford has been hired as Director of Education; Michelle Chandler was promoted to VP of Sales & Education; and Karen Johnson is now VP of Shows/Artist Development. CPL Aromas named Akram Khadr Sales Manager for Egypt, based in Cairo. He previously worked for Colgate-Palmolive in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, Johnson & Johnson, Gillette and Delta Aromatics. Suzanne Fenton, Director of Marketing, TricorBraun, has been inducted into the College of Fellows of the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP) in recognition of “Special and outstanding contributions and service to the field of packaging.”
