Surface care products continued to see a positive performance in 2012, due to strong demand after the flooding crisis. Many households within the central region of Thailand were inundated for at least a month, leaving heavy dirt and bacteria residue behind when the waters receded. Consequently, flood victims needed to buy several surface care products in order to clean homes and kill bacteria. Toilet cleaners, floor cleaners, kitchen cleaners and household antiseptics saw increased popularity at the end of 2011, which continued into early 2012. The last quarter of 2011 and first quarter of 2012 also witnessed strong demand for Home Insecticides in Thailand, particularly in flooded areas, which saw a surge in the population of mosquitoes and cockroaches. Demand for Home Insecticides is therefore expected to continue, with positive category growth predicted over the period to 2017, according to Euromonitor. SPRAY
