The market of U.S.-produced sunless tanning products reached $609 million in 2012 and is forecasted to reach $940 million by 2016, according to IBIS World. The reason for the growth is attributed to consumers’ concerns regarding health risks, such as skin cancer, and the government implementing stricter regulations regarding tanning beds. The weightless bronzer instantly gives skin a radiant glow. Infused with nourishing vitamins A and E, the airy mousse leaves skin soft, smooth and touchable. The product is packaged in an airless BOV system and dispensed by the Wren accessory, both supplied by Aptar. St. Tropez Dark Self Tan Bronzing Mousse uses extra skin conditioners and protective ingredients to provide a streak-free color that evens out skin tone and lasts for longer without patchiness. The dark formula is an easy-to-apply formulation that contains melanin technology to help ensure a tan is tailored to individual skin tone. The mousse contains Aromaguard fragrance technology that helps to virtually eliminate the “tell-tale self tan aroma” by up to 70%. Packaging for St. Tropez is from M&H Plastics. Skinvisible Pharmaceuticals, Inc. announced new additions to its sunless tanning product line formulated with patented Invisicare polymer delivery technology. Skinvisible has developed two new forms of application to add to its pipeline of sunless tanning products comprising mousse and continuous spray formulations. Skinvisible is seeking exclusive licensees for its sunless tanning products, which include light, medium and dark continous sprays, mousse and lotions, along with moisturizing “after-sun” products, all with patent protection. Australian Gold Continuous Spray with Bronzer SPF 15 contains a natural caramel bronzer for an instant sun-kissed glow. It offers broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection in a fast-drying mist that is not sticky or tacky.
