At the same time, L’Oréal will focus its marketing efforts on men, who account for one of the fastest growing segments in China. The strategy is expected to boost L’Oréal’s sales in China more than 10% from last year’s $1.9 billion. Drom Fragrances has won two Russian FiFi Fragrance Awards, also known as the International Russian Fragrance Award. The ceremony for the winners was held in the Izvestiya Concert Hall in Moscow, hosted by The Perfumery Club. “Fragrance City Woman Cruise,” created by Drom perfumer Barbara Zoebelein, won Best 2012 Feminine Fragrance in the Mass Market category, and the Dromfragranced masculine line “The Man that I Love” won the Popular Advertising Concept category. Producer for both is KLAS, Moscow. Swiss specialty chemicals company Clariant recently held the groundbreaking of its new plant in Konstantynów Łódzki, Poland. The ceremony held on site was attended by the Swiss ambassador, and representatives of local authorities and the Łódz´ Special Economic Zone as honorary guests. The new, modern plant will commence production in 2014, and the investment will allow Clariant to increase production capacity and strengthen its position on Polish and European markets.  AkzoNobel has announced its intention to invest a further €65 million ($85 million) in China. The investment will be used to boost capacity and improve operational excellence at AkzoNobel’s Surface Chemistry manufacturing sites in Boxing and Ningbo. Additionally, AkzoNobel’s patented Zeta Fraction technology is one of the recipients of a 2013 China Personal Care & Cosmetics Innovation Award, under the category of Most Innovative Formulating & Processing Technology. The winners were announced at an awards ceremony held on March 13, the 2013 Personal Care and Homecare Ingredients (PCHI) trade show. Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna closed its 2013 edition in March with recordbreaking figures: 193,842 visitors (14% increase) including 48,823 from abroad (22% increase); 2,390 exhibitors including 1,500 from abroad; and 24 national collectives with new entries from Japan, India, Indonesia, Pakistan and Colombia. Italy, with 666 exhibitors, topped the exhibitor list, followed by China (272 exhibitors), France (161), U.S. (143), Germany (125) and Spain (113).
