Other reports noted that an additional $200 million plant is underway in Nigeria. The new South African plant would make a range of products for local markets other products in and around the home—is now on the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Safer Chemical Ingredients List, meaning that Bitrex meets the strict safety criteria of the EPA for human health and the environment. The Safer Chemical Ingredients List was developed as part of the EPA’s Design for the Environment (DfE) program to help consumers and product manufacturers identify chemicals that are effective and safer for people and the environment. Luxe Pack New York will spotlight more packaging suppliers than ever before, with 165 exhibitors participating this year. Showcasing some of the most innovative packaging in the world, the event (May 15–16, at The Altman Building & Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City) is expanding this year to encompass the second floor of the Metropolitan Pavilion. The additional 8,500 square-foot space, called The Gallery, will house exhibitors as well as the Seminar Room. A variety of special exhibits and a comprehensive seminar schedule round out the show. Ten high level seminars will be presented during the two-day event. Among the leading speakers are Lorrie King, Coty Beauty; Noreen Dodge, Elizabeth Arden; Scott Widro, Gurwitch Products; Eve Pearl, Eve Pearl Cosmetics; Dr. Benjamin Punchard, Mintel; Thomas Serrano, Havas Luxe; Renee Hartmann, China Luxury Advisors; Marc Rosen, Marc Rosen Associates; and Dr. Hae Chang Gea, Rutgers University. Special exhibits at the event will include the Luxe Pack Innovation Forum; a photographic journey by luxury product specialists Gilles de Beauchêne and Patrick Paufert; MINTEL and export to southern and east Africa, said reports.
