INVENTORS' CIRCLE Newest Patent Approvals Two-piece can body made of laminated steel sheet, and method of producing the two-piece can body U.S. Patent No. 8,727,155 JFE Steel Corp. JFE Steel Corp., Tokyo, Japan, patented a can body for a two-piece can made of a laminated steel sheet, the laminated steel sheet containing a steel sheet and a copolyethylene terephthalate resin layer containing at least one member selected from the group consisting of isophthalic acid and cyclohexane dimethanol as a copolymer component in a proportion of 5 to 20 mol %, and having a crystallization temperature of 120°C to 140°C on at least one side of the steel sheet; and satisfying the following relationships: r.sub.1.ltoreq.r, 0.1.ltoreq.r.sub.1/R.ltoreq.0.25, and 1.5.ltoreq.h/(R-r).ltoreq.4, wherein r.sub.1 represents the minimum radius of the can body, r represents the maximum radius of the can body, h represents the height of the can body, and R represents the radius of the laminated steel sheet having a circular shape before shaping whose weight is the same as that of the can body. The can body has a high strain level, and does not suffer from delamination and breakage of the resin layer. Moisturizing foam containing lanolin U.S. Patent No. 8,486,376 Foamix Ltd. Foamix Ltd., Rehovot, Israel, patented a highly tolerable, hydrating lanolin containing foamable composition for administration to the skin, body surface, body cavity or mucosal surface, e.g., the mucosa of the nose, mouth, eye, ear, respiratory system, vagina or rectum. The foamable composition includes lanolin, a surface-active agent, about 0.01% to about 5% by weight of at least one polymeric additive selected from the group consisting of a bioadhesive agent, a gelling agent, a film forming agent and a phase change agent, water, and a liquefied or compressed gas propellant at a concentration of about 3% to about 25% by weight of the total composition. Soap-Free Self-Foaming Gel U.S. Patent No. 8,535,652 B2 L’Oréal Paris L’Oréal Paris has patented a soap-free, self-foaming gel packaged in an aerosol container with a piston or flexible pocket separator to separate the gel from propellant necessary for ejecting the gel. The gel comprises, in a cosmetically acceptable medium, at least one aqueous phase; at least one N-acylsarcosine where the acyl radical is a C10-C20 radical; at least one mineral or organic base in an amount sufficient to dissolve the N-acylsarcosine and produce a pH of 4 to 8; at least one alkylbetaine; at least one nonionic surfactant; and at least one self-foaming agent. The gel is soap-free and is substantially foam-free until it is spread onto the skin, at which time it foams by evaporation of the self-foaming agent. 84 SPRAY July 2014 u
