Dow Corning Dow Corning introduced several high-performance silicones for skin care products. Dow Corning ES-5600 Silicone Glycerol Emulsifier offers oil formulation flexibility and emulsification capability, including small particle size and high stability, for liquid foundations, color cosmetics and sun care products. In addition to Suppliers’ Day, the NYSCC assembled a program of experts to explore Brazil and its opportunities. The program, which was held on May 12, the day before the opening of Suppliers’ Day, attracted nearly 200 industry professionals. Attendees learned about Brazil’s biological and ethnic diversity and its thirst for personal care products and fragrances. “We were thrilled with this year’s attendance and growth,” said Steve Neidenberg, NYSCC Chairman. “It’s a positive sign that there is a higher level of economic confidence.” Here’s a look at a number of the suppliers offering ingredients suitable for various spray applications. AkzoNobel Working with its scientists in the U.S., South America, Europe, India and Asia, AkzoNobel created Male Essentials, a range of concepts and formulations for a set of grooming products that will satisfy the needs of male consumers around the world, who demand more speed and convenience, aesthetics and high performance in their grooming. The regimen includes a body wash featuring Structure Cel-4400E, a naturally-derived rheology modifier; a styling shampoo that combines Balance CR and Flexan II polymers to help remove product buildup, refresh, add texture and build style; a mild facial wash powder that cleanses without irritation containing Elfan AT 84 surfactant for mild cleansing that includes Tapioca Pure starch and Amaze XT polymer for improved aesthetics; a shaving cream that provides a close, comfortable shave due to the addition of Structure Cel 4400 E and Structure Cel 500 HM, along with Hydrovance, a moisturizing agent; an antiperspirant/deodorant that contains Structure Solanace, a natural rheology modifier, and Hydrovance, a moisturizing agent; and a fast-absorbing daily moisturizer that contains Hydrovance for moisturization, Structure Cel 4400 E for viscosity and texture and Dry-Flo TS starch to reduce tack. The neutralizer is non-microbial for compatibility with skin flora and is compatible with fragrances and most anionic, nonionic and amphoteric personal care ingredients. It can be used in formulations ranging from deodorants to pet cleansers. BASF BASF introduced Z-COTE LSA-UC, a naturally derived, uncoated, broad-spectrum UV filter.
