In 2013 Coster USA will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of their US presence. In fact, the new production facility located in South Elgin Illinois, near Chicago, has continued to strengthen its competitive position in this market. The South Elgin site specializes in the manufacturing of BOVs. In the US, Coster also holds a type III DMF for the BOV2, 1800 series actuator and 20 mm DPH valve for pMDIs. Product Innovations Coster invests significant resources in R&D in order to continuously increase its product suite. The range currently includes valves, Bag-On-Valves and actuators (1800 series, Rotor®, Twist®, Orbit®, Crystal®, Sfera®, Hydra®) and a number of different customized actuators and spray caps, such as Garnier Deo Mineral™, Unilever Axe™, Rexona™, Gillette Deo 3X™, etc. Coster also develops special spray applications for the Food & Beverage industries. Sustainability Coster’s attention to environmental sustainability is a must. New products being developed are aimed at improving recyclability and allowing the use of compressed air as a propellant. Other areas of optimization include decreasing the manufacturing waste and minimizing the use of energy through the adoption of new means of production. Along with ISO 9001 certifications, the Coster facilities in the US and Spain are also ISO 14001 certified. Pharmaceutical Focus Coster’s growth in the pharmaceutical market is significant and ongoing. Pharmaceutical components are manufactured in an ISO 8 Clean Room, which has been in operation for the past three years. Different pMDI valves and inhalers, 1 inch valves, and metered dose pumps are also available.
