On May 23, Procter & Gamble Co. (P&G) brought back A.G. Lafley to run the company, replacing Bob McDonald immediately in the midst of a major restructuring. Lafley first joined P&G in 1977 and served as President & CEO from 2000 to 2009, when he handed the position over to McDonald. He stepped down as Chairman in 2010. Additionally, effective July 1, Martin Riant has been elected Group President (GP) of Global Baby, Feminine & Family Care. Deborah Henretta has been elected GP of Global Beauty. David Taylor, currently GP, Global Home Care, has been elected GP of Global Health & Grooming. Charles Pierce, currently GP, Global Oral Care, will also assume the additional responsibilities for New Business Creation & Innovation. Giovanni Ciserani has been elected GP of Global Fabric & Home Care. George Tsourapas, currently VP, Fabric & Home Care, Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa, has been elected President, Global Home Care and P&G Professional. Dimitri Panayotopoulos, currently Vice Chairman, Global Business Units, has been elected Vice Chairman & Advisor to the Chairman & CEO. Giorgio Aliprandi, President & GM of Ball Aerocan Europe, has been elected as President of the International Organization of Aluminum Aerosol Container Manufacturers (AEROBAL). Jean-Jacques Lebel, President of the Consumer Products Aliprandi Division at L’Oréal retired July 1. Marc Menesguen, currently Executive VP of Strategic Marketing, succeeds him. Nicolas Hieronimus has been named to the new position of President of the Selective Divisions, including the Luxury, Active Cosmetics and Professional Products branches, plus The Body Shop. Hieronimus was appointed President of L’Oréal Luxe in 2011 and will continue to maintain that position also. Other changes include Frédéric Rozé being appointed Executive VP of the Americas zone, including North and Latin America. He will continue to be CEO of L’Oréal USA.
