That’s when we became Spray Technology & Marketing. So, after having worked on over 500 issues, meeting a deadline for that many months without a miss, I’ve garnered more memories than I can share here. But I’d like to say I do have one distinction—something I will probably hold as an unbroken record. If there were a record for the most aerosol cans photographed by one individual, I think I’m the prime candidate. I switched editorial hats in 2002, after 31 years writing about aerosols and spray packages, and took over the editorial duties of our sister publication; but I have always remained associated with Spray. For the past year or so, I’ve returned to doing the covers and some layout again. So, after 42+ years, this will be my last issue. I’m sure I will sorely miss this interesting, creative, sometimes stressful, rewarding job, and all the friends and colleagues in this industry that made the job so fascinating. This was probably the longest “temporary job” on record as well. My heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff here at Industry Publications and to all of you who I interviewed, cajoled for information or with whom I just shared a good time. Spray’s editorial is of course, in the very capable hands of Ava Caridad, and has been for some time now, so I’m confident the magazine I have given so much of my professional life to is going to continue to serve its readers well. That 15-year old magazine I started with will, in just a few short years, celebrate its 60th anniversary! Bye, and thank you all for the memories....
