(PVC). The award was developed to recognize an individual, company or group that has made considerable contributions to the success of SATA and the aerosol industry. Peterson has served a total of eighteen years on the SATA Board of Directors and has served as VP for many of those years. Due to his strong belief that a Marketer/Filler should serve as President of SATA, he always passed on his opportunity to run for President. Even when not serving on the Board, he remained active on the Programs Committee and was largely responsible for selecting the locations that have hosted the SATA Fall Meetings over the years. Born in Danville, IL, Peterson was influenced by his father, who co-founded Peterson Filling & Packaging (now CCL Custom Manufacturing). After graduating from The George Washington University in Washington DC with a degree in International Marketing, Bob Peterson (left) is presented the award by SATA President Eric Dann. he began his career with PVC as an Aerosol Lab Technician. The following year, he was named International Marketing Manager, working with marketers in North, Central, and South America specifying valves for their operations. In 1975, he was transferred to PVC Mexico where he worked as Sales Manager, Mexico & Central America. He explained how the shale gas extraction method involves drilling a gas well approximately 8,000 feet until it reaches the shale strata. The well is then bored horizontally into the shale formation. High pressure water is injected through the well, breaking rocks and allowing the gas and oil to flow out. Bello indicated that natural gas extracted from shale will surpass all other sources by 2015. Graphs showed how the U.S. natural gas liquids production will rise almost 60% by 2018 and exports will increase by 175% by the same period. The economic impact due to this dramatic production increase will be realized through many industries, particularly the petrochemical market that will use low cost natural gas products, such as propane and ethane, as feed stocks for the production of polyethylene and poly-propylene plastic products.
