German aerosol production remains steady… 16 Spray August 2014 German aerosol association Industrie-Gemeinschaft Aerosole e.V. (IGA) released 2013 aerosol production statistics, revealing stability in the country’s aerosol industry. At 1.34 billion units, the total number of aerosol cans produced in 2013 was equal to 2012’s total. According to IGA, aluminum cans saw an increase of 30 million units (3.8%), while steel can production decreased 5.4%. Pharmaceutical and Veterinary Products (12.5%), Air Fresheners (8.9%) and Oven Cleaners (33%) were the largest gainers. Overall, Personal Care products rose by seven million (0.8%). Twenty-one million more aluminum cans were produced within the sector, while steel can production decreased 14 million. Household Products increased four million (3.4%); aluminum cans rose by eight million and steel can production fell by four million units.
