Croda Inc. announced its recent approval by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) for participation in the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP), achieving Star certification at its site in Mill Hall, PA. OBITUARY Stanley Midtbo, aged 87, of Edgerton, WI, passed away March 2, 2013. He was born near Stoughton, WI, in 1925. During World War II, he was stationed on a tugboat as ship’s electrician. After his marriage, Midtbo and his wife Marilyn moved to Edgerton and became partners in founding aerosol contract filler I-K-I Manufacturing in 1955. Midtbo was extremely active in his community, participating in a multitude of organizations and causes. He loved the outdoors and traveled extensively through the U.S., Europe, Africa and South America. Midtbo was predeceased by his wife Marilyn in 2012. He is survived by daughter Sherry Sweeny and son Larry Midtbo (President & COO of I-K-I Manufacturing); two grandchildren, Megan Walker and Ryun Bibro (VP of I-K-I Manufacturing); and four greatgrandchildren. OSHA conducted an onsite review of the manufacturing facility in October 2012 and in February approved the site for participation in the program. Croda’s manufacturing site at Atlas Point in New Castle, DE has been a VPP Star approved site since 2005. The Croda U.S. corporate headquarters and innovation center in Edison, NJ was a recipient of the OSHA SHARP award in 2006, a voluntary program where companies invite OSHA to inspect their facility and rate the company on its adherence to governmental health and safety regulations. The new OFF! Bug Control Backyard Pretreat recently was named a 2013 Product of the Year (POY). In the U.S., the POY seal is backed by the votes of over 50,000 consumers. The Annual Meeting brought together nearly 500 industry leaders to discuss the essential roles of research and development, science and innovation, global collaboration and the importance of working with policymakers to ensure a pragmatic regulatory system with decisions that are based on sound science. 46 Spray April 2013 packaged goods that demonstrate innovation and were launched within the previous year. Entered products are then placed into specific categories such as food, beverages, personal care, household care, etc. with a product then being chosen as a winner in its category through a nationally representative online study conducted by TNS.
